If you love adoptable characters (aka: adopts), you've come to the right place! We do not discriminate against anyone. You can submit as much as you like!
If you're new to the world of adopts, then you're probably wondering what they are. I'll try to explain. Adoptable characters are created and designed by an artist, usually to be sold for points or cash. Sometimes the artist will sell designs of characters they no longer want, for whatever reason. Sometimes people choose to give them away for free. Some people ask that you draw them in order to adopt them. Most commonly, adopts are sold on a first-come, first-serve basis, but not always.
Others buy the adopts and, once purchased or claimed, they can use the character however they want (within the creator's individual rules, of course). Also, some people will do custom designs. Some will accept art or character trades for their designs as well, or some other kind of deal. What you are buying from them is the character itself. Not just the art. So please keep that in mind.
It's common courtesy to credit someone at least the first time you use the character they created for you. It's also common courtesy to follow their rules, IF they have any in place. Do not bid on something or make an offer if you do not have the points.
You can find more information about what adoptables are here: karijn-s-basement.deviantart.c…
Be kind to all deviants, especially other members. And please respect all creator's rules when you adopt.
ANYONE can submit adopts, but you can also request to join contributors if you plan to submit them regularly. Anyone may join, just click the button and it will be accepted. As soon as you're a member, you may submit adopts and/or begin adopting from others.
Please do not submit adopts that are made with dollmakers. We frown upon this, heavily. Anyone could make their own by clicking a few buttons, so please don't do it. You CAN submit adopts made with other's lineart as long as you credit them.
There is NO LIMIT on how many adopts you can submit to the group, or how often. Please submit as many as you would like! When your adopts are closed, you can remove them from the group if you wish but it's not required. We will not do this for you, so if you no longer want them here, just remove it.
Make sure you submit your work to the proper folders in our gallery. If you have something that fits into more than one folder, just pick whichever of them you think fits best. (For instance, a kitten auction could be placed in either 'Felines' or 'Auctions', but not both.) If you are still unsure where it belongs, feel free to ask.
Only submit your work to the featured folder if you feel it is your very best work. This should not be used very often. It will most likely be accepted only for contributors.
And if you need help with anything, or have any questions or concerns, just ask the Founder. KalineReine
Advertising is absolutely allowed in this group. You can put a little ad in the comments section of the page any time. Also, members can post ads in our group's blog too. The only rule we have about advertising is that it MUST be adoptable related in some way. If the staff deems that it's not an adoptable related advertisement, it will be hidden/taken down.
